Recycled polyester; our raw material.

How LIX reduces its environmental impact.

A sustainable choice for a better future 🌎

When creating LIX, our priority was clear: to offer practical, sustainable, and comfortable products while reducing our impact on the environment. Every action counts to protect our planet, and we are convinced that sustainability can also rhyme with style and performance. ♻

Why recycled polyester?

"In studying our options, we discovered alarming statistics about plastic pollution:"
👉 By 2050, there could be more plastics in the oceans than fish, largely due to single-use containers.

It is this urgency that led us to choose recycled polyester, a material derived from the transformation of plastic waste into high-quality fabric. This choice combines sustainability and environmental efficiency.

How is recycled polyester made?

At LIX, we use recycled polyester made from plastic bottles collected from recycling centers and the oceans. Here is the process:

  1. Collection of plastic waste in sorting centers and natural environments.
  2. Mechanical transformation: plastics are crushed into granules.
  3. Fusion and spinning: the pellets are melted and transformed into filaments.
  4. Weaving : the filaments are woven into fabric ready to be used.

Lix design, here is how our manufacturer transforms plastic bottles into recycled polyester.

The advantages of recycled polyester

✔️ Reduction of oil usage : Unlike virgin polyester, recycled polyester does not use additional fossil resources.
✔️ Reduced energy consumption : Its production requires less energy and water.
✔️ Reduction of plastic waste : This process contributes to the circular economy by extending the life of materials originally intended for landfill.

Did you know? A plastic bottle can take between 100 and 1,000 years to decompose. By choosing our products, you contribute to their transformation into practical and sustainable accessories.

The limits of recycled polyester

Uncertainty about the material : After several cycles, recycled polyester loses its qualities and cannot be recycled indefinitely.
Complex mixtures: When polyester is combined with other materials, its recycling becomes difficult and sometimes chemical.
Microfibers in water: During washing, microparticles can be released. Use a specialized washing bag to limit this impact.

Our commitment to a sustainable future

At LIX, we know that nothing is perfect, but we believe in progress. We are committed to:
🌱 Continue to improve our manufacturing processes.
🌍 Further reduce our ecological footprint, particularly through sustainable packaging.
🚀 Adopting innovations to further integrate the circular economy.
